The Department of Biomedical Engineering is running the Ph.D. program in Electronics Engineering (Biomedical Engineering).

The Major research domains of the Biomedical Engineering are medical image processing, bio-signal processing, robotics in biomedical Engineering, control system design for intensive care unit (ICU) and healthcare, robot surgery, AI for healthcare, smart healthcare, biometrics and security, and biomedical instrumentation, Implantable medical devices with the applications of cyber-physical biomedical systems, Artificial intelligence (AI), Machine learning, Deep learning, and soft computing.

Biomedical Engineering is the research field to utilize Engineering principles and concepts for medicine and biology in healthcare systems. This field helps to utilize the computer science fundamentals in smart healthcare to advance medical treatment such as diagnosis, monitoring, and therapy.
